Counting Corks

Dean Martin sang, “When the world seems to shine like you’ve had too much wine, you’re in love…”

We have lived in our house for four years. Weather has been warm and we are doing spring cleaning. My husband and I have this policy that when we go out to dinner or drink wine at home with dinner, we save the corks. We throw them in a vase which sits on a cabinet in entryway between front door and kitchen.  Today I counted them. Here is the picture; can you guess how many corks were in the vase? (scroll down…)

120. Well, that is 30 bottles a year. Not so bad considering we keep corks from when we have multiple guests over, Thanksgiving, etc.  We always drink with dinner.  Then again, maybe we  just really, really like wine with dinner.
